Most of the Linux distributions come with pre-installed compilers and for many programming languages it is as easy as line of command line code to install the compilers and interpreters eg: C, C++ (GNU), Java, Python, Fortran, Golang, Assembly, NodeJS. On Windows, you need to download those compilers separately, added to the mess of setting them up to get them running.
